Abstracts
Sometimes, for me, art is not about recreating images but instead about capturing a feeling or creating something never seen before. In this section called "Abstracts", you will find art that comes more so from my subconscious than any other part of my brain. These pieces are the ones most inspired and guided by my mood and muse. These are my sense of being in its rawest form as conveyed, as best as I was able, by my hand. Click on any picture to see a larger version. There is more artwork from this category available in the "Shop" section. (Purchased copies of artwork on this site do not contain the J. Beatty Digital Visuals watermark.)
This was the first piece I made after a 3-month stay in the hospital which included open heart surgery.
The beauty and turmoil of sunrises and sunsets at the horizon. Swirls of color dance together and around each other in tune with Creation itself. Conveying both power and calm, this abstract piece speaks to the complex nature of all of us as we individually contribute to make a beautiful whole
Made this piece a few nights after I had a car accident that totalled my car. The accident was the first incident that led to me being in the hospital for 3 months. While I was making this one the name "Blue Trauma" jumped into my mind and wouldn't leave.
One of the first abstract pieces I've done this year (2020) recognizing the tumultuous emotional journey I've been on since finding out my father was in the hospital, his health taking a subsequent surprising and sudden severe downward spiral, his passing, and the aftermath of grieving, living, and growing.
